• Executes optimization activities of the cost of the current infrastructure and connectivity needs;
• Performs regular process reviews and resilience improvements in order to provide best customer experience on service;
• Maintains solid relations and works closely with Project Managers and Technology teams and acts as a point of contact for major projects.
• Uses best practice knowledge to keep the consistency in infrastructure compliancy to Vodafone Group standards;
• Understands IT/Network infrastructure challenges across firewalls, file transfer protocols, proxy servers, data centers, cloud, virtualization, storage and backup areas;
• Understands the theories and practices across the service performance spectrum, leading refresh and/or decommissioning programmes that improve service availability effectiveness
Unix OS installation and Administration
• Technically assist for troubleshooting issues and escalations.
• Plan and drive the complex environment patching requirements needed for group security.
• Accountable for the administration and operation of different IT infrastructure environments related to the security and vulnerability.
• Should have excellent knowledge of LDAP/DNS/DHCP/NW/Storage components.
• As a LINUX/UNIX resource it is expected to have experience in performing all admin tasks on LINUX/UNIX platforms.
• Scripting Knowledge is mandatory.
Virtualization
• Must have excellent knowledge on :
- Multipathing [Mandatory]
- Unix Networking [Mandatory]
- SAN understanding [Optional]
Functional Skills
ITIL Certification preferred
Good understanding of INC, CRQ, Task management
Knowledge of 1 or 2 Ticketing tool.

What you’ll do
The Infrastructure Operations Manager provides expert knowledge to deliver the operation and management of central and/or local data centres, legacy and/or centralized infrastructure, standards and requirements to support the availability of Vodafone IT applications and Data Centre activities and database environments.The Infrastructure Operations Manager focusses upon the supervision of a team, who ensure availability and effective functioning of internal network infrastructure, data availability and technical support for customers (internal and external). Including monitoring of hardware and software in datacentres, and executing event/incident, configuration, escalation, release, deployment and 3rd party database management activities. Typically reports to the Senior Infrastructure Operations Manager.

* Has full people supervisory responsibility for a team of Infrastructure Operations professionals who perform regular system reviews and pro-active performance and resilience improvements in order to provide best customer experience;
* Maintains solid relations with internal and external partners;
* Demonstrates solid communication skills, managing vendors of assigned systems. Reviews vendor incidents regularly and organises vendor meetings to ensure that all incidents are solved according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs);
