Role Overview

 

A suite of Finance reports would be designed & developed over a period of time to enable finance with automated reporting and for management to take faster decisions using the BI reports.

This role will play a key role in understanding the Finance reporting requirements, design a best in class visualization in Power BI, translate the requirements to be built by a set of developers on the data models.

Leading a mixed team of techno-functional resources, this role will have to monitor the entire solution of report development & challenge the ways of working for a faster and smarter report development.

This role is critical to elevate the BI reporting environment & enhance the user experience & encourage them to move away from an excel world.

 

Key Accountabilities

Team Leadership

  • The Manager will design, establish, collaborate and drive the implementation of all new Finance reporting and analysis solutions to achieve objectives, in line with the RCoE vision and Finance Data Strategy
  • Work closely with RCoE stakeholders to understand their requirements per set process, analyze if covered in existing Finance reporting and suitably propose new and efficient report design where needed.
  • Conduct development team meetings to drive the pipeline of work, drive governance with the stakeholders including the prioritization of deliverables.
  • Oversees the daily management of the team, including goal setting and review, annual and mid-year performance reviews, addressing performance, talent management, coaching and development
  • Be the Finance function expert on the reporting, understand the finance requirement and enable technical BI developers to understand the requirement and enable solutioning
  • Prioritising resource and workloads as required to ensure compliance with the RCoE’s mandate including driving self service development within the team.
  • Build a strong working environment and provide clear roles and responsibilities for all team members
  • Build strong connections with and be able to engage and influence commercial finance leads on report design / adoption.
  • Continue to drive innovation in report design, datasets as well as the overall solution based on business requirements.
  • Manage the RCoE team and report on the progress of the development, maintain a future requirement pipeline and drive the RCoE catalogue to enable users to have a transformational experience

 

Professional Skills

  • Overall 8-10 years of Experience with a 5 years of experience in  BI Report development & visualization& data analytics
  • Extensive experience & comprehensive working knowledge of Power BI & an Expert in Power BI Visualization
  • Knowledge of DAX,  SQL languages, Power Query, Azure Dev ops is a plus
  • Strong Ability to understand organisation data models & data structures
  • Sound knowledge of Data base management & data modelling
  • Experience in Finance domain- developing Finance reports
  • Experience in Designing, build Power BI Dashboards & report to the highest standards using structured data models
  • Good communication skills to deal with senior members & ability to challenge the ways of working of developers
  • Techno-finance skills & experience required to deal with Finance & technology team
