The Director of Sales at Cohu is an exciting and high impact role where you will have the opportunity to take the lead in shaping our future business with highly visible customers. With your knowledge and experience, you will work with your team of Global Account Managers to develop and maintain our key customers’ accounts. This position is both strategic and tactical and ensures that Cohu is positioned for long-term strategic success with our customer base. In addition, you will guide Cohu’s operational execution to meet and exceed our customers’ requirements and expectations. You will be working with cross functional teams to identify new opportunities, grow revenue and profitability. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Focusing account teams globally to manage Cohu’s business and relationship with the assigned customer(s). Works with Cohu’s global, functional operations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, Finance, Operations) to communicate customer expectations and requirements, ensure that Cohu is meeting customer needs, we are meeting the bookings targets for the Annual Operating Plan, and achieving the target market share by business unit.
- Develop, drive, and execute the strategic plan of Cohu to grow tester, handler, inspection, and contactor business with the targeted accounts
- Directly develop and drive the growth of the tester business with the targeted accounts
- Conduct regular marketing and sales customer meetings showcasing products, solutions, and services for all Cohu’s product divisions. Effectively able to extract customer and competitor information.
- Develop and cultivate constructive relationships at multiple levels within the customer’s organization to manage the overall relationship and achieve strategic selling objectives by influencing the right people
- Create forecasts and submit reports on market situation, device and equipment developments, customer information and sales accomplishments
- Identify best growth strategies and priorities for improving market share and revenue within target industries
- Attend sales meetings and trade events that enhance product and market knowledge. Share information and develop camaraderie with the rest of the members of the Cohu worldwide team.
- Responsible for developing a comprehensive account plan for assigned customers and periodically update it as needed. Required to utilize these Account plans as a vehicle to drive business growth at the accounts covered.
- In all areas of responsibilities, the incumbent is responsible in demonstrating integrity in their business dealings with people and organizations and should operate in compliance with all Cohu policies and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in areas of Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Software, or Computer Science
- + 10 years in semiconductor equipment industry or related business serving in a sales, service or marketing role as a supplier or user of back-end equipment
- +3 years of experience managing teams
Skills/Technical Requirements:

- Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and negotiating skills.
- Understands and applies “situational leadership” and can interact effectively with all levels of employees and management, within Cohu and with the customer.
