Position Summary

Arcesium is looking for a highly motivated, resourceful, and hands-on Infrastructure Group Engineering Manager to join their USA Technology team. The successful candidate will manage 5-7 reports across multiple functional areas, make strategic individual contributions, and work as part of the global Infrastructure leadership team. They will spend 60% of their time on team management and 40% on technical contributions, including solution design, code review, and coding. This position requires a broad and deep knowledge of infrastructure and the ability to quickly learn new topics. The Infrastructure team is responsible for Access & Identity Management, Linux Compute, Discovery, Networking, Observability, SDLC, & Storage, built on AWS. The Infrastructure Engineering Manager will report to the Global Head of Infrastructure and collaborate with Infrastructure globally and in the larger global Technology organization. 

The Team
The Infrastructure team is responsible for multiple functional areas which include Access & Identity Management, Linux Compute, Discovery, Networking, Observability, SDLC, & Storage, built on top of AWS, which provide the foundation upon which our customer-facing financial technology platform builds and runs. Infrastructure is a high-impact engineering team that builds new services, automates systems, integrates cloud & open source software, and operates critical systems depending on the needs of the firm. Infrastructure is a global team with members in USA and India.

Responsibilities

- Manage, inspire, and coordinate a team of engineers based in the USA as they tackle various projects within Infrastructure's functional areas listed above 
- Oversee highly technical projects from start to finish, making well-balanced technical decisions to ensure timely completion. This includes scoping out projects, delegating tasks to team members, conducting design reviews, code reviews, and change management to move towards quarterly and annual goals 
- Contribute to the team's objectives and keep team members on track by making impactful technical decisions and coding contributions in collaboration with local and global teams in areas such as Kubernetes, AWS, and Linux systems automation 
- Work with global Infrastructure team and other technical leads to achieve the team's overall objectives, including participating in the team's monthly planning process 
- Play a crucial role in delivering high-impact systems and critical changes that meet the needs of the business

Qualifications

- At least 8 years of experience in an infrastructure engineering role, with a minimum of 2 years of experience leading technical projects or managing a small team of people 
- A successful track record of delivering multiple production-critical systems and being focused on execution and delivery 
- The ability to make decisions that balance quality, risk management/acceptance, and timely delivery of projects 
- Experience in shipping and operating production systems 
- Strong academic background in computer science or a related major, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills 
- Strong proficiency in writing and reading systems-level and application Python and preferably other languages as well 

The expected annual base salary for this position is $220,000 - $270,000. Our compensation package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, cash and deferred sign-on bonuses, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, and 401k contribution matching.
