Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Purchase and plan for capital materials needed to support engineering projects, cable plant maintenance and extensions, customer installations, office equipment and supplies, equipment repairs and any other business needs for the company.
- Resolve procurement problems and issues, including invoice discrepancies with accounts payable and/or suppliers, obtainment Proof of Deliveries (POD) to confirm receipt of purchased material, Request Return Material Authorization (RMA) approval upon request and receiving discrepancies with suppliers. Educate internal customers or product recall, revisions and discontinuations.
- Manage and oversee all communication on material issues that pertain to a specific product line.
- Meet with supplier representation teams to review annual business plan and discuss material requirements.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities to ensure the highest performance levels are met to support the company's material requirements.
- Lead strategic planning of inventory and project related material with planning coordinators, supervisors and managers.
- Initiate Requests for Quotation (RFQ) & Requests for Proposal (RFP) from approved suppliers (especially new vendors/diverse vendors) to achieve optimal cost savings.
- Notify vendors of long term materials needs, forecasting stocking and shipping programs to support installation and plant related projects.
- Expedite and determine solutions for back ordered material.
- Expedite shipments with vendors to meet project schedules.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Education
Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
