Role Description

Role Accountabilities:

We are now recruiting talented individuals to fill our Structural Design Position  to work on our projects in Bangalore.

• Work independently and manage minor projects primarily on rail Civil/ Station schemes and allied Civil works.  
• Involving in all the stages of Civil designs starting from Conceptualisation, Optioneering, Detail engineering and till the construction stage support covering rail Infrastructure.  Remedial and assessment works of Rail infrastructure. Preparation of Bill of quantities.
• Guiding junior members of team in fulfilling the safe design and resolving straight forward issues related to design. 
• Undertake designs, modelling works.
• Ensure Quality through necessary verification, checking of design submittals.
• Manage assigned Task with necessary quality within programme timelines, budget considering H&S and sustainability in all the projects.
• Develop effective working relationships with other disciplines and senior colleagues in GEC and Internationally, as necessary.
• Being familiar and compliant with relevant Health & Safety regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.
• Bear confidence to work independently with good influencing/motivating, delegating skills.
• Ability to work in a Team, to integrate his/her ideas with that of the Team with commitment and sense of responsibility. Open and constructive handling of mistakes and misunderstandings. 

Qualifications & Experience:

• Post-Graduation in Civil/Structure Engineering
• 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in designing stations and Rail infrastructure including bridges
• Experience with the design of bridges. Experience with the German/ European Railway projects will be added advantage.
• Excellent analytical and practical knowledge in the planning of Railway and Road Bridges, Retaining walls for Permanent and Temporary design situations, overhead Catenary & gantries, Tunnels and other important structures system such as noise barriers and other steel structures (e. g. traffic signal bridges) for rail infrastructure to relevant Euro norms & corresponding German National Annex.
• Excellent communication skills both written, verbal. In addition to English, German skills are required. 
• Fair Knowledge of UK design standards, application processes
• Working Knowledge on structural analysis/ design software like STAAD, MIDAS, LUSAS, ROBOT. Specific experience with RFEM/RSTAB, INFOGRAPH, Sofistik, GGU, Rib software would be an added advantage. 
• Preferably exposure in BIM environment and transfer knowledge with wider team
• Thorough Knowledge of BIM, digital application and shall support/assist in automations and system improvement.
• Designing, Evaluating Railways over and under bridges, Station schemes including lift shafts, platform works, footbridge etc. using software and should be able to validate through alternative means, if necessary, by applying basic principles. Assessment of structures and bridges and proposing remedial measures.
• Should have exposure to design Sustainable platform options in extension works, track gauging, footbridge, lift shafts and assessments and remedial aspects,
• Working knowledge with CAD application, Drawing productions, Reviews
