Responsibilities. Design and maintain storage environments for unstructured data that supports worldwide users and enterprise applications. Day to day provisioning of storage. Configure all aspects of the backup infrastructure including secondary storage frames, switches and disk/tape topologies as directed in various configurations. Participate in long term systems and capacity planning with transformation initiatives focused on reduced cost. Disaster Recovery configuration and testing for large backup environments. Design and implement commvault Simpana and NetBackup infrastructure. Participate in installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of Storage and Backup systems. Identify engineering defects in the existing code base and constantly improve the code quality. Develop and maintain scripts/code to automate tasks for self-service and self-healing.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

Education and Experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study and four (4) years of related experience required. The company will also accept a Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience.
Work Experience. Three (3) years of experience must include: Commvault Simpana backups (V9, V10 and V11), NetBackup (V7.1 and 7.5), EMC Data domain, ECS Enterprise Object Storage, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon S3 – Cloud Object Storage; OS Patching of all backup servers; Veritas products (VxFS and VCS), administration of Netapp; RMAN backups and IntelliSnap backups and restores; Installing, configuring, performance tuning and troubleshooting Storage and Backup systems; UNIX and/or Windows Server operating systems; SQL cluster backup configuration; and handling transactional log issues.
