Applied Materials is actively recruiting for an HR Business Partner to support Varian Operations. The successful candidate will have responsibility for core HR services delivery in Gloucester, MA, to enable manager and team effectiveness, global consistency, and exceptional employee experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • The HRBP’s main responsibility is to strengthen business performance through culture, talent, engagement, and organizational strategies to include:
  • Partner closely with employees and leaders to enable organizational success
  • Be a trusted advisor and strategic HR partner to employees and people managers, focused on building morale, increasing productivity and enabling development and retention.
  • Support consistent delivery of core HR programs/services: Talent Management (i.e. Objective Setting, Performance Evaluations, Promotions, Organizational Health, Talent Planning, Training), Global Rewards (i.e. focal), Culture of Inclusion, etc.
  • Proactively partner and collaborate across the global HR organization, share information, and provide thought leadership and a solution-oriented direction to optimize the business value of the HR function
  • Lead with data and analytics when executing major responsibilities, taking a proactive approach to using this data to further enhance business results
  • Seek ways to proactively improve organizational processes and implement solutions to drive the right outcomes
  • This position will be based in Gloucester, MA and report to a Director of HR located in Santa Clara, CA

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources related field preferred
  • 5+ years of HR experience in a complex and matrixed enterprise 
  • Experience with leadership development
  • Strong analytical expertise, very comfortable telling a story with data
  • HR experience with Manufacturing employee base is a plus
  • Experience with change management and business transformation a plus

What will you do? Our HR GLDP enables participants to experience multiple rotation assignments over two years to provide a broad experience in different facets of HR while allowing for exposure to our core processes, technologies, and leaders. All HR GLDP rotations are onsite and each rotation is individually designed and determined through a combination of business priorities, previous experience, development needs, and individual interests which allows you to be located at any US Thermo Fisher Scientific location. The HR GLDP rotations expose program participants to diverse functional areas, business units, products/services, and regions. Additional learning opportunities support the accelerated nature of the program and will include: formal learning sessions; an Executive Mentor program; utilization of our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology; and a network of Leadership Development Program alumni across the organization. The Program Manager will partner with participants to align on post-program placement and identify positions where graduates will continue to hone critical Human Resource competencies.   Please Note: The HR GLDP is set to begin July 15, 2024 and individuals are responsible for finalizing housing and transportation prior to program commencement and across each rotation throughout the two (2) year program.   Rotations include exposure to: Talent Management Talent Acquisition Corporate Total Rewards Employee Relations   Through these rotation experiences, you will get exposure to our various field client groups, manufacturing plants, HR processes and systems, and senior leaders.  Opportunities to work on key HR strategic projects may also be available.     Relocation is required both during and after completion of the program.
