Your Responsibilities:

The Country Trade Compliance Officers: take instructions from the Regional and/or Global Head of Trade Management and the Head of Global Trade Compliance.

Drive and coordinate the regional, cluster or country level implementation of the GTM.

Ensure trade compliance and efficient trade at the regional, cluster or country level, in coordination with the Head of Global Trade Compliance, create country specific trade policies and procedures, where local laws or regulations require having a country specific or dedicated trade policy.

Support Business Units in relation to trade-related issues such as export control, customs compliance, sensitive countries, screening, etc.

In cooperation with the Business Units, analyze trade flows and customs duty spend to look for duty savings opportunities.

Provide the Business Units with guidance and improvement suggestions in relation to trade issues.

If necessary, stop individual business transactions and/or business with specific business partners at any time.

Regularly update the Business Units, the Global/Regional Head of Trade Management and the Head of Global Trade Compliance on (potential) risk areas and trade issues.

Provide the Business Units and other stakeholders with trade-related training.

Conduct trade reviews and audits.

Consult the Head of Global Trade Compliance in case of questions on trade compliance and escalate trade compliance issues to the Head of Global Trade Compliance as necessary; Country Trade Compliance Officers usually report to the Regional Head of Trade Management and are part of the GTM organization. In case of part time Country Trade Compliance Officers or Representatives, these roles are best combined with Finance/Controlling, Legal or in certain cases with SCM. Segregation of Duties needs to be secured.

Your Background:

Preferred Graduate or postgraduate degree.

5+years, in Trade compliance, Imports, Exports, Customs management, claims, Customs classifications.

Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
