Overview

Main Purpose

  • This role would be responsible to provide Control & analytical support for Agro Business
  • Drive the control agenda for the Agro business (Seed to Chip & Seed to Seed)
  • Anchor contract farming/storage agreement validations & Due diligence co-ordination  for Agro
  • Effectively monitor, alert, intervene & align stakeholders for delivery of key Agro Business KPIs
  • Actively Participate in Risk assessment sessions for Agro and ensure business controls are defined well and monitored in the field to ensure governance.
  • Ensure stock & assets are rightly represented in the books thru Physical verification & review of Balance sheet on a monthly basis
  • Seed pipeline monitoring & Governance
  • Seed accounting management
  • Drive performance Reviews with Agro Business team
  • Drive Automation of the Process and eliminate manual process

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting – Month End Close Process

  • Provision for Shrinkage & Rottage are made on time. 
  • Ensure the books are closed on Day 0 with accuracy and on time
  • Provision for Agro Warehouses & MOH with due approvals and as per agreements
  • GIT review and highlighting risk if any
  • Review Seed costing, accounting & governance
  • Agro KPI Reporting and support planning in providing the reasons for variance
  • Agro Freight accruals are done correctly

Management Reporting - Operating Reviews

  • Drive performance Reviews with Agro Business Team
  • Ensure all GRN’s are closed on time
  • Review of all open PO’s
  • Perform Store S&R analysis
  • Regular visit to the warehouses to ensure controls are in place

Audit and Compliance - Governance and Risk Management

  • Highlight change in processes in and ensure BCA’s are defined to mitigate risk
  • Monitor, track & ensure GCS compliance of GCS cycles across the country for Agro ops
  • Ensure compliance to the Schedule of Authority by appropriate communication and training to the Agro
  • Ensure remediation of ineffective GCS KC and Internal Audit observations

Audit and Compliance – Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations across regions
  • Mandi taxes are paid and the returns are filed on time
  • Seed and Potato License as per requirement shared by legal

 

Audit and Compliance - Audits

  • Co-ordinate and provide inputs for Internal Audit & Other audits
  • Facilitate discussions with business and agree on the remediation plans
  • Ensure follow up and remediation of Internal Audits for Agro Business

Business Partnering and Support - Operations/Backend Support

  • Provide transactional support
  • Provided support for Cold Store opening in SAP for the season
  • Provide support for cold store due diligence
  • Provide support for transporter’s contracting
  • Provide other support as required by the business time to time.

Operations/Backend Support

  • Ensure Co-ordination in cross function projects – Flats, Chiplets, Kolkata Cross Freight etc.
  • Ensure Close co-ordination with Agro on any long term/short term agro initiative viz, Modernization, Bulk Cold Stores etc.
  • Contract Farming Proposals - Rabi / Kharif /Seed and approvals thru Legal and track signed proposals are in place from vendors/farmers
  • Support Due diligence for Cold stores and also opening of cold stores in SAP
  • Ensure Oats contract farming accounting & governance (Basis season)

Responsibilities Ensure all EHS related reports are prepared and shared on time. Conduct data analysis and prepare required reports to enable the EHS team to set right priorities including but not limited to injury trends, audit repetitive findings, common system weaknesses, common areas of non-conformities or non-compliance across the different departments, repetitive reported unsafe conditions or unsafe behaviours through near misses or any other means. Own the EHS documents and records keeping and filing, and ensure filing is done in an organized and easily accessible way and is made ready when needed. Follow up in timely and proactive approach on the completion of all EHS related corrective/preventive actions (C/PA). Follow all required reporting and transactions on myEHS including but not limited to incidents reporting and fulfilment of all requirement, metrics reporting, progress and completion of Prepare regular performance reports and presentations. Track all EHS expenses and compare against available funds and advise accordingly. Creating Purchase Orders (PO) and completing Goods Received (GR) creation, follow ups and invoice submission. Scheduling and following up on activities such as (inspections, safety Follow up on EHS contracts and ensure on-time prior-to-expiry renewals. Follow up on plant clinic/first- aid room and ensure proper functionality including but not limited to competent staff, availability and continuous replenishment of medicines, cleanliness. Follow up and ensure timely updates of EHS documents including but not limited to risk registers, aspect/impact register, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) and related lists, Permit to Follow up on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) availability and timely replenishment. Active participation in the risk assessments, accident investigations, communication, planning, Reward and Recognition (R&R), Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP), monitoring, inspections and audits as assigned by the EHS MS or the EHS Manager. Any other actions or responsibilities assigned by the direct manager that is in line and supports the job main purpose Qualifications Strong people management skills. Problem solving and strong analytical thinking (root-cause analysis, setting action plans etc) Self-starter able to work independently with a high degree of business savvy. Excellent Planning & Organizing skills. Excellent communication and presenting skills and the ability to engage with and influence the behaviours of others internally and externally without direct reporting relationship.
