Graduate Engineer Trainee – Cyber Security

Overview: We are looking for an Intern who will be responsible for helping manage the Cyber engineering and supporting the tools used by our cyber team. The individual in this role is expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver excellent quality customer service. As a Cyber Security Intern, you will work closely with our security professionals to support various aspects of our enterprise security program.

This includes assisting in security monitoring, threat analysis, compliance efforts, and the implementation of security measures across the organization. The person can multitask, work independently, and work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed.

Job Responsibilities:

● Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) tools and other security platforms for signs of potential threats or suspicious activities.

● Help in performing vulnerability scans and assessments of IT infrastructure, identifying security weaknesses, and recommending mitigation strategies.

● Assist in the investigation and analysis of security incidents, including data breaches, malware infections, and other cyber threats.

● Aid in the development and revision of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to enhance the organization’s security posture.

● Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices, and provide insights to the team.

● Document findings from assessments, incident investigations, and research. Assist in maintaining logs and records of cybersecurity events.

● Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training for employees.

● Participate in internal and external security audits and help prepare reports based on the findings.

● Should possess knowledge of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing process and tools.

Qualifications:

● Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

● Familiarity with key cybersecurity concepts, including firewalls, encryption, threat detection, offensive and defensive mechanisms and network security,

● Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking, and common security tools (e.g., antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems).

● Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

● High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

● Familiar with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell). ● Any prior internship, coursework, or project experience in cybersecurity or IT is advantageous.

Duration: 6 Months .

Compensation: On stipend
