Job Description
This role will focus on Oracle SQL queries and updates as well as ticket resolution.
Further responsibilities include managing and maintaining a custom-built application. This role specifically emphasizes knowledge in Oracle SQL, which involves writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
Key responsibilities include:
Database Queries and Manipulation: Being able to write SQL queries to return information from multiple tables in a clear and concise report. Writing SQL queries that will insert, update and or delete records on 1 or more tables.
SQL Query Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing SQL queries to improve database performance and minimize execution time. This involves identifying bottlenecks, indexing strategies, and rewriting queries to enhance efficiency.
Ticket Resolution: Responding to and resolving technical issues and service requests raised by end-users or system monitoring tools. This requires an individual who is excited to solve new problems in a timely manner while being able to clearly communicate the issues and resolutions.
System Monitoring and Maintenance: Implementing monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential system issues. Regularly monitoring system performance, capabilities, and implementing necessary monitoring.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures. Generating reports on system performance/functionality, incidents, and resolutions to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Collaboration and Support: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as developers, network administrators, and security specialists, to ensure smooth system operation and resolve complex issues. Providing technical support and guidance to end-users and stakeholders.
Overall, a Systems Administrator with a focus on Oracle SQL and ticket resolution plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our proprietary systems and databases, while providing prompt resolution to technical issues and maintaining a high level of user satisfaction.
A strong desire to learn new things and a drive to solve complex puzzles is a must. The Systems Administrator job requires communication with our Business Users as well as an understanding of their workflow and processes. Due to the highly regulated nature of our business, proper documentation and adherence to regulations is a must.
