This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in all areas of software engineering: distributed systems, identity, security, observability, and user experience. We are looking for engineers with experience in building control plane components for public cloud services. You have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production. You’ve built and operated high-scale public cloud services and have deep understanding of control plane architecture. You work on most projects and tasks independently and extend technical leadership to development teams. In this role, you will enable development teams by driving design of major service components, working with engineering managers and TPMs, and providing direct guidance to more junior team members. You are able to go from high level system design, writing architectural documentation and driving engineering peer reviews to hands-on prototyping, code reviews and project bootstrapping. You are technically strong and get a lot done. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements. You’ve made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements with your ability to automate and instrument. Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science or related field (MS preferred) 10+ years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment Development experience in a modern programming language, such as Java and C++ Hands-on experience designing and developing Deep understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, specifically within a cloud environment Experience working closely with architects, principals, product and program managers to deliver product features on time and with high quality. Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals. Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures. Good understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies. Good understanding of Linux or desire to learn Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure) Experience driving security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers Experience and understanding of multi-AD/AZ and regional data centers Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules FedRAMP, PCI DSS, or similar compliance and auditing experience Expertise in applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques to develop security solutions Responsibilities As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
