The Product Assurance Engineering Team is part of the Seagate Quality function and is accountable and responsible for the verification and validation of products in Seagate’s HDD, SSD and Systems portfolios. We are part of a fast-paced, global team with the objective of to deliver the world’s most affordable solution for mass capacity environments. About the role - you will:

•    Understand the design details of the storage system in test perspective
•    Work closely with the Development team to understand the product architecture and implementation
•    Develop and execute test cases as per the test plan
•    Generate test reports
•    Collaborate with development teams to ensure full integration of all parts of the system
•    Assist with maintaining engineering laboratory and equipment
•    Automate the test cases
•    Develop test infrastructure and framework
 

About you:

•    Ability to showcase passion and commitment for testing, validating, and problem-solving
•    Showcasing positive attitude and ability to collaborate with team members
•    Ability to take initiatives and be ambitious with each task given to them
 

Your experience includes:

•    Understanding of RAID based storage system architectures
•    Understanding of storage media types, and communication media
•    Understanding of protocols, typical capacity, throughput and latency values, failure modes
•    Familiarity with IO generation tools
•    Good understanding of manual and automated testing
•    Excellent troubleshooting skills
•    Understanding of industry software test processes and practices
•    Programming in C and Python scripting
•    Shell script and other scripting languages
•    Programming in UNIX environment
