Job Objectives: Primary Objective of Position: Work in coordination with Technical Leads & Project Managers on R&D projects assignments for Hardware Design and Development, Functional Testing, Pre compliance Testing and Production support with Focus on Embedded, Power Supply and BLDC Motor controller Hardware Design Organizational Position: Hardware Design Engineer reports functionally to Lead Engineer/Tech Leader at Emerson Innovation Center- Pune. Responsibilities- Interact with product management & development teams to develop requirements for designing of hardware. Identify and convert the product specifications into hardware requirements by interacting with New Product Development and marketing team. The individual will be responsible for prototyping the product which includes Interacting with external Printed circuit Board manufacturers Electronics board assembly services organizations. component procurement, material management Interaction with other design team members such as F/W team, Mechanical Team to optimize design Process and make sure Product development meets the required timeline. Individual will be responsible for Preparation of detail design document Preparation of schematic Bill of Material Creating PCB Layout in Altium Writing Test Plan Complete functional hardware validation Environmental Testing (Thermal, shock, Dry-heat, Vibration, Humidity) EMC (Surge, EFT, ESD, CS, CE, RE, RS) validation. Writing Test Report Design for product integration, validation and customer support Creating and maintaining hardware development schedule. Qualification and Experience Qualification: B.E. Electronics with 5+ Years of Experience OR M.E. Electronics/Power Electronics with 4+ years of Experience Skill Sets Requirements: Relevant work experience embedded / Power Electronics hardware development Must have excellent Electronics Hardware Design skills which includes Power Supply Design (must have) Buck, Boost, buck-boost, Isolated Topologies Li-ion Battery charger design (Low to mid power range) Active and Passive Component selection Mixed signal Design Analog signal Conditioning circuit design Micro controller based design Analog interfaces IO design Design of BLDC Motor Drive will be added advantage Individually should be able to complete schematic, simulation and circuit analysis Good knowledge of PCB layout rules and technique Good knowledge of EMI EMC and mitigation techniques. Must have hands on experience of testing tools like MSO, DSO, Function generator, DAQ Experience in schematic drafting tools like Altium (Preferred) knowledge of Micro-controller protocols like SPI, I2C, UART Excellent team player with good communication skills (written, and verbal). Must be flexible, independent and self-motivated. Minimal supervision will be preferred. Good team player across organization and quick learning attitude. Result orientation and focus on details.
