Job Description Essential Responsibilities The present role will focus on identified actions, such as: 1) Preparing and reviewing complex reports, proposals and presentations to clients in the following areas: HV Power systems analysis – Load flow, fault levels, dynamic performance, transient analysis, harmonics assessments, induction studies, insulation coordination studies; Protection Relay coordination study; 2) Power systems & Network studies includes, but not limited to, the following, Grid connection study for Renewable generation includes Solar Farms, Offshore Wind Farms, Hybrid system on Power factory (DIGSILENT) which mainly includes Reactive Power Compensation, Harmonic, Flicker, Dynamic studies, and other relevant studies as per the Grid Code of different country. Insulation Coordination studies including, but not limited to, Electromagnetic Transient studies e.g. Lightning & Switching studies, temporary high voltage studies, Very fast transient studies, TRV & RRRV studies etc on PSCAD, Performing Reliability & Availability studies (RAM studies), system modelling on study tool e.g. Reliasoft and Report preparation Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Analysis & Relay coordination study (HV/MV/LV breaker settings), Arc flash analysis, Power factor correction study on ETAP, MV & LV Cable sizing on CANECO software etc. Experience and conceptual understanding of FACTs, HVDC and filter design. In charge to develop design template based on international standard (IEC, IEEE, Cigre), with supporting documents including training material. Responsible for collecting & arranging input for said studies. 3) The candidate will be responsible for action plan elaboration, coordination with GE Grid solution or other teams (worldwide), and customer (Sales, Marketing) on the dedicated part of said tasks and their execution, if required, troubleshooting analysis to manage as technical expert etc. as defined on business needs. 4) Govern technical reviews and quality assurance activities for projects, documentation, processes, and practices. 5) Use technical knowledge to identify and realise new client opportunities and to provide technical input during bidding process. 6) Lead the technical development of staff, coaching and mentoring 7) Provide technical expertise and overview to client and stakeholders and to assist clients through technical decision-making and provide alternative options/solutions if there are changes to project parameters. On-going projects: a) Undertake the Network analysis actions by use of simulation software in the domain of Power System Analysis for ACS Projects. b) Undertake project feasibility and integration studies for renewable & hybrid projects, Grid compliance actions. c) Development of method / template / training to adapt GE Grid Solutions Engineering to new market, new standard and competitiveness benefit. The Scope is ITO and OTR. Undertake grid power quality improvement projects’ analysis and component definitions for transmission and industrial applications. Support on demand: ITO and OTR Desirable Experience & Know-How Relevant experience in Power System Studies specifically on i) Grid connection study with detail modelling on Power factory (DIGSILIENT) which mainly includes Reactive Power Compensation, Harmonic, Flicker, Dynamic studies, etc. ii) Understanding of Dynamic controller and its modelling; iii) Insulation Coordination studies with detailed modelling on PSCAD for Lightning & Switching studies, Very fast transient studies, TRV & RRRV studies etc, iv) Understanding and preparing model for Reliability & Availability studies (RAM studies), system modelling on study tool e.g. Reliasoft and Report preparation v) Detail modelling for Relay coordination study (HV/MV/LV breaker settings), Arc flash analysis, Power factor correction study on ETAP. Candidate must have understanding of Single line diagrams, Electrical Layout arrangements, and basic primary engineering. An understanding and preferably hands on experience on Solar Inverters, solar Power plants, HVDC System, FACTS devices, Wind Turbine, on shore or off shore Wind Powerplant. Understanding of Grid code, standards, and State Grid requirement for System harmonics, Power quality, reactive power requirements etc. Qualifications / Requirements B. Tech Electrical, while or M. Tech in Power Systems Activity preferrable. Minimum 8 years of experience with at least 5+ years of relevant experience in Network Studies, engineering design & electrical power systems studies. Experience years is flexible and can be considered as per suitable candidate.
