How will you make an impact in this role?

Function Description:
 

As part of BU Financial Planning & Analysis team, we manage planning, forecasting, reporting and Investment Management solutions for the organization.

Our core solutions are implemented on Planning Analytics (TM1). We offer solutions to wide range of customers such as corporate planning, investment optimization, risk finance teams. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of end-to-end TM1 process with respect to Fast Forward project
  • Develop an understanding of AXP’s Controls & Compliance requirement including SOX process and create necessary documentation in line with the Audit needs of the process
  • Liaison with multiple stakeholders engaged in the TM1 processes across finance and non-finance groups to support projects such as Fast Forward
  • Assist in defining the data controls structures within TM1 environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
  • Prepare periodic Control reporting and MIS and communicating to leaders and business partners
  • Execute controls on periodic basis to supplement the audit needs and align them as per data governance needs
  • Work with and liaison with various partners (OE, Compliance, Compliance & Risk, Data Governance Team) to achieve goals and meet deadlines
  • Participate in various aspects of Data Governance including data activation steps, compliance with data standards
  • Support strategic improvements to data assessment process and making necessary enhancements to data analytical and data quality rules as per AEMP70.  

REQUIRED SKILL SETS 

  • Relevant experience of defining control around process with supporting documentation which would fulfill audit needs
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Strong experience of Agile framework and associated toolset like Rally, Confluence, Jira etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present thoughts to leadership
  • Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision or questions.
  • Ability to write various documents including audit documentation, controls.
  • Strong understanding of American Express business processes and financial systems
  • Exhibits ability at problem solving and has an eye to identify opportunities
  • Writing complex calculation and formulas for customized solutions
  • Be able to implement the change management process
  • Knowledge of TM1 and tools like Tableau, Power BI would be a big advantage
  • Good knowledge of Essbase cubes is desirable
  • Knowledge of domains like CCAR, Treasury and Stress Testing

 Academic Background – 

Graduate/Master in Engineering with minimum 3/4+ Years of experience.

2+ years data quality or similar level data experience required.
