We’re looking for a highly motivated, talented and experienced engineer who is passionate about product verification and automation activities. You will certify solutions that provide our customers opportunities to differentiate their service offerings in a very competitive market.  You will own entire solutions based on BluePlanet ROA and validate them for functionality, reliability, scalability and efficiency.

• Collaborating with various engineering teams, product line managers, and product owners to translate concepts and high-level requirements into optimized test coverage and superior customer experiences.
• Formulating test strategies to thoroughly evaluate ROA functionality pertaining to L3 Routing and Packet management service provisioning, service switching and routing performance, Fault management, Network traffic integrity, stress loading, and overseeing test plan execution using TestRail.
• Spearheading lab buildout initiatives to address proposed testing scenarios fully, coordinating equipment acquisition and sharing agreements across relevant teams.
• Validating the seamless integration of open-source and third-party software applications within ROA solutions to ensure they contribute to the success of Ciena Blue Planet solutions for our clients.
• Analyzing test results and generating comprehensive test reports.
• Investigating software defects, identifying critical issues with potential customer impact, and collaborating with software development engineers to find resolutions or address specification- and test plan-related problems.
• Contributing to efforts aimed at automating all manually devised and executed test cases using automation best practices, including ongoing maintenance of these test cases.
• Sharing your expertise by mentoring junior team members as needed.

Must Have:

• Knowledge and/or experience working with Layers 2/3 technologies with specific expertise in any of the following areas:
• BGP IGP (EIGRP/OSPF/ISIS) E-LINE/E-LAN/E-TREE Segment Routing Traffic Engineering MPLS LDP/RSVP-TE SNMPv2/v3 TWAMP
• Authentication Protocols (TACACS/Radius)/DHCP / DNS / NTP
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills associated with enterprise and carrier software solutions in general.
• Knowledge and/or experience working with Blue Planet product line, its general functions, architecture and micro-services is highly desirable. 
• Experience with different Router configuration on vendors such as Ciena, Cisco, Juniper, Arista etc.
• Knowledge and/or work experience with Python, and/or REST API and associated tools is bonus.
• Excellent written (documentation) and interpersonal communication skills (English).
• Strong abilities to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision.
• Strong abilities to rapidly learn new complex technological concepts and apply knowledge in daily activities.

Good to Have

• Knowledge and experience working with Centos/RHEL/Kubernetes and/or Virtual Machine and system admin functions.
• Knowledge and experience working with virtualization software such as VMware ESXi, OpenStack, AWS, KVM virtualization.

Education Qualification:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Software Product or System Testing role
