Job Summary:
If you are an Electronics Hardware Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Pune, India location, you will be a member of a collaborative product development group. You will have the opportunity to lead Innovative embedded product development and work with global technical leadership teams for embedded products for Emerson business units located across the globe. You’ll be employed for Emerson Innovation Centre, Pune (EICP)
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
The responsibilities of this position involve a detailed analysis of product requirements and the development of device descriptor code (DD) that is not only efficient and testable but also aligns with established coding standards and technical design. A key aspect of this role includes the maintenance and improvement of the design and codebase of existing device descriptors. The engineer will be encouraged to engage in reverse engineering, such as debugging and updating current DDs. Collaboration with product management, project management, and development teams is essential for a comprehensive understanding of the EDD project and its goals. Furthermore, the candidate will be instrumental in new concepts and technologies for device descriptors, including the creation of proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and conducting feasibility analysis. An adaptable approach to work and the capability to efficiently function with direction are important attributes for this role.

For This Role, You Will Need:
For this position, a bachelor’s degree in instrumentation, electronics, or a related field is required. Ideal candidates will have 0–3 years of experience in commercial software products. A strong background in programming languages, particularly C, is vital. Practical experience with industrial protocols such as Modbus, HART, Fieldbus, and Profibus devices is highly valued. Familiarity with asset management systems will be helpful. The role demands strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Candidates should exhibit a quick learning ability, a high level of passion for teamwork, and the capacity to work optimally within sophisticated and potentially distributed team structures.
