Position: Embedded software Development Engineer – Rosemount Flow
Experience: 2 to 3 years in Embedded Software Development
Qualification:
- Engineering Degree in Electronics (BE\B Tech) \ Electronics & Telecommunication \Instrumentation & Control \Computer
Major Duties/Functions
- Applies technical skills, commensurate with formal training and moderate experience, to develop software. Work involves choosing between alternative proven techniques with some originality and moderate technical risk. Develops software using prior art and state-of-the-art techniques. Develops alternative technical approaches and pursues most viable ones. Defines philosophy and purpose behind design. Designs and implements test procedures to insure stable software.
- Prepares detailed plans, spanning several months, necessary to complete assigned projects. Participates in formation of project goals, scope and schedule. Plans for availability of needed support people and lab equipment. Defines detailed software tasks.
- Interacts on a regular basis with other functional groups and customers on technical and/or administrative matters. Corresponds with other groups frequently to identify activities which might affect instrument/system connect ability. May work with outside consultants and experts. May interact with Marketing where project goals are affected. Determines and communicates essential features of newly-developed products or systems to Production May support Product Engineering or Manufacturing.
- Administers technical procedures. Maintains a record of all software developmental activities. Prepares regular and final project reports. May make project level-of-effort and schedule estimates.
Skills Required:
- Should have good knowledge of C and C++, and object oriented programming concepts
- Should have experience in design & embedded software development of complex embedded products based on 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers.
- Should have experience in programming with multi-tasking / threading environments
- Should have experience in low Level Driver Development (Timer, UART, ADC, etc) For Microcontrollers
- Should have good understanding of the software development process.
- Understanding of the UML and have experience in high level and detailed software design
- Should be able to develop and review unit Test Plans and Test cases
- Exposure of Coding standards as MISRA and Other Standard Guidelines
- Should have hands on experience on version control and defect tracking tools.
- Good oral and written communication
- Excellent learning capabilities
- Should be a good team player
Skills Highly Desired:
- Work experience in C and C++, object oriented programming
- Work experience on RTOS is must. (Threadx, MQX, µCOS etc.)
- Should have good debugging skills and aware of debugging tools like emulator, debuggers, DSO, Multi-meter.
- Experience with industrial digital communication protocols like HART, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus PA/DP, and Ethernet is desired
- Experience with Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, DOORs development tools is desired
