How You Will Contribute:

We are seeking experienced, talented software engineers and software architects who are passionate about advancing the state of the art and who thrive on delivering innovative products in networking and routing technologies.You will work on various components of Networking software Infrastructure, System platform bring up and performance, Health monitoring, Network security and Netconf/Yang based user interface for Chassis based multi card architecture to provide packet services in container-based system. This is an exciting time to join Ciena, as we aggressively drive our product portfolio forward into the future of advanced networking services.

Working and independently driving different NBI infra features which involve analysis, architecture design approach, writing and implementing CLI, Netconf/Yang, gNMI Infra features/enhancements.

· Build in-depth knowledge of product architecture and develop ability to root-cause issues.

· Coordinate activities with local/remote test and development teams on a need basis.

· FS and Test Plan Reviews: Attend meetings independently and provide comments specific to the functional requirements for FS reviews for assigned features

The Must Haves:

· Preferred working experience of Command line interface (CLI) Stack/Infra, gRPC/gNMI Stack/Infra, Netconf Stack/Infra (ConfD, Yuma…), Protobuf, OpenConfig models.

· Working experience of docker, container based micro service application development in C language. Good to have python experience.

· Good to have working experience or exposure of System design, High availability (HA), Performance monitoring, Scalability and Inter process communication (IPC), Redis, Mongo DBs.

· Fluent in writing Yang models for different features/protocols.

· Unix shell scripting; Engineering make experience using Perforce and Git.

· Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills.

· Demonstrable self-initiative and “can do” attitude to find and implement the best solutions.

· Team oriented; strong inter-personal skills and ability to understand customers’ needs, expectations and perspective.

· Strong commitment to product excellence and quality.

· Develop test plan based on FS, requirements and other external materials.

· Review project documents thoroughly

The Good to Haves:

· About 13+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications, C, CLI, gNMI/gRPC, Netconf/Yang.

· Preferred working experience in Network security protocols, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, Virtualization.

· Experience with Ixia traffic generators and on IxNetwork is desirable.
