Introduction:
Application Support Specialist should take responsibility for:
• Delivery of L2/L3 level Application Support services for application(s) under support
• Maintain system availability and supplementary services within SLA
• Ongoing liaison with Shared services team, upstream and downstream application teams to manage SLA expectations
• Ongoing liaison with Barclaycard C&C, BIM’s/MIM’s to manage escalated incidents
• Maintain a proactive presence in providing help and guidance to Business operations
• Transitioning changes successfully in production
• Working effectively with stakeholders within technology and operations
What will you be doing?
Application Support:
• This role will be responsible for the application support for the service hosted on AWS public cloud
• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production systems
• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems
• Driving complex and major incidents to resolution by owning the E2E incident management
• Own the problem management function and work on to reduce the open problems by implementing fixes and collaborating with component teams
• Documentation of SOPs or KBAs
• Review test strategy, test cases & test results and provide inputs
• Contribute in PAT and Resilience Testing
• Provide early life support of new projects
• E2E Ownership of all production changes
• Automation of all manual checks
• Identification of gaps in the existing alerting & monitoring followed by deep instrumentation
• Creation of dashboard to identify service health and availability for proactive identification of issues
• Driving continual service improvements across the estate to help our customers achieve their ambitions
• Capacity & Demand Management
• Implement self-healing to remove any manual intervention for incident recovery
• Identification of improvement areas & automation opportunities to continuously improve effectiveness and efficiency of the team
• Should be fine to work in India and UK shift and provide out of office hour support on rotational basis.
What we’re looking for:
• Strong domain knowledge in banking or financial sector with an exposure to Agile Delivery for large scale and complex real-time systems
• Strong knowledge of AWS Public cloud
• Hands on experience in EC2, ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, ELB, SQS, SNS, KMS, Secret Manager, IAM, API gateways and CloudWatch
• Advanced administration experience with NOSQL DB or Amazon DynamoDB
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes or containerization platform
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Stash etc.
• Experience with Deployments using CloudFormation and Service Catalog
• Strong knowledge on monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, AppDynamics and Kibana
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and prior exposure to support functions
• Working knowledge of Network Technologies such as Load Balancers & Firewalls
• Knowledge of API or Microservices will be plus
• Application Support experience in Java/J2EE including strong code-debugging skills and ability to perform analytics investigations on diagnostics such as thread-dumps, memory dumps
Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters or graduate in computer science or any equivalent degree
Skills that will help you in the role:
• AWS certified preferred
• Scripting – Python, CloudFormation, NOSQL
• Databases – NoSQL based native-cloud database or RDBMS databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
• Platform - Java/J2EE
