Engineering manager role is a critical role to drive the platform support team and is part of restructuring of Cordant Software technology team

As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:

• Managing the work deliverables of the platform/product/solution.
• Managing a small agile team (up to 8 direct reports) of platform support engineers.
• Influencing (potentially) more agile teams, but does not lead them directly.
• Managing multiple projects including SW developer portal and moore on the tactical side (projects with 0-3 month duration)
• Demonstrating  leadership/knowledge in a specific technical area.
• Providing coaching, feedback, developmental opportunities, etc. to directs.
• Placing emphasis on not only attracting talent but also retaining it and majority of direct reports are FTE PB/LPB individual contributors and/or contractors.
• Demonstrating an ability to communicate the technical knowledge through project management/contributions to product strategy.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). A minimum 8 years of professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of Nodejs, React, Angular/Play, HTML5, Java Script, jQuery, CSS etc,
• Strong knowledge in web services (REST, SOAP, WSDL etc.), using Apache Commons Suite & Maven, SQL Database such as Oracle MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.
• Good to have an experience in Team/People Management
• Good to have an experience with Java, Big Data / Hadoop and NoSQL Database
• Have a strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
• Have an experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems and expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks
• Have to evangelize how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective
• Have to demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
