Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Be responsible for the identification of project spare parts, in the Global Parts catalog within the Power Conversion Parts Organization.
  • Communicate with customers to convert quote and order requests into deliverable applicable part(s) by researching drawings, renewal parts books, databases, catalogs and other available sources for accurate product configuration.
  • Proactively identify spares for past projects, categorize spares by customer function criticality.
  • Communicate with engineering groups to improve internal record accuracy and document replacement strategies for obsolete parts.
  • Identify newly created part numbers and accurately complete part definition attributes in a timely manner.
  • Maintain engineering part definition attributes required to process requests for parts.
  • Contact qualified Vendors in order to identify/ or validate part definition, life-cycle status, price, availability and replacement part if part is defined as obsolete.
  • Collaborate across the business including, Spares and Repairs, Engineering, Sourcing, Order Management and Global Field Sales teams.

 

 

Qualification/ Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college / university in Electrical / Electronics Engineering streams
  • Basic ability to read and understand Schematic diagrams

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors. Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems and systems. Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area. Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area. Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters. Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.   Required Qualifications For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Engineering/Technology & Controls Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience). For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
