Cloud Operations SME - Azure SME
This role is for the Cloud Ops L2 team, mainly working as part of Azure & GC Ops/Change Ops/Deployment Ops. You will be responsible for managing Teradata's as-a-Service offering on the Azure public cloud. Your responsibilities include cloud network administration, security administration, provisioning, optimizing the environment, supporting migrations from On-premise to Cloud, implementing security best practices, managing VaaS environments, and monitoring system health. You will also ensure SLAs are met, prioritize incidents, and provide help/support to team members. IT experience of minimum 9 years and expertise in Azure Cloud are required qualifications for this role.
What You’ll Do
This Role will mainly be working as part of Azure & GC Ops/Change Ops/Deployment Ops for the Cloud Ops L2 team. which is eventually responsible for all Cases, Incidents, Changes, Provisioning, Upgrade related task for Azure Cloud Platform.
Few core responsibilities though not limited to would be as below.
- The Cloud Ops Administrator is responsible for managing Teradata’s as-a-Service offering on public cloud (Azure)
- Delivery responsibilities in the areas of cloud network administration, security administration, instantiation, provisioning, optimizing the environment, third party software support.
- Supporting the onsite teams with migration from On premise to Cloud for customers
- Implementing security best practices, and analyzing the partner compatibility
- Manage and support 24x7 VaaS environments for multiple customers.
- Devise and implement security, operations best practices.
- Implementing development, production environment for data warehousing cloud environment
- Backup, Archive and Recovery planning and execution of the cloud based data warehouses
- Throughput monitoring, load balancing, improving the overall system health by optimizing the key Azure resources.
- Ensuring SLA are met during that shift- Acknowledgement & Update SLAs
- Incident/task prioritization during the shift. Ensure all scheduled changes are implemented within the prescribed window
- First level of escalation for team members, Divert adhoc tasks to platform leads.
- First level of help/support for team members, Handling S1 during shift
- Proactively highlight any incidents about to miss the SLA. Constantly monitor SLA Dashboard
- Ensure even distribution of workload within shift members.
- Shift leads would manage transition and share summary of all tickets being transferred
Who You’ll Work
This Role will mainly work as part of Azure & GC Ops/Change Ops/Deployment Ops for the Cloud Ops L2 team.
The role will be reporting into Delivery Manager for Cloud Ops.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
- Minimum 9 years of IT experience and 5-6 years of experience in Azure Cloud
- Expert in at least one of the supported public cloud platform (Azure).
- Cloud Certification.
- Managed responsibilities as a Shift lead
- ITIL or other relevant certifications are desirable
- Service Now / ITSM tool day to day Operations
