Title: Data Reporting and Visualization Senior Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Reporting and Visualization Specialist to join our Autonomy & Automation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing end-to-end data reporting and visualization solutions for Caterpillar customers, providing actionable insights from complex datasets to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and data needs for reporting and visualization projects.

- Design and develop scalable and interactive data reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

- Create visually appealing and user-friendly dashboards and reports that effectively communicate complex data insights to different levels of stakeholders.

- Perform data analysis and data modeling to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in reporting and visualization solutions.

- Optimize data queries and performance to ensure timely and efficient data retrieval for reporting purposes.

- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data reporting and visualization technologies, and apply them to improve existing solutions.

- Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure smooth data integration and data pipeline processes.

- Conduct training sessions and provide support to end-users on using data reporting and visualization tools effectively.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address data reporting and visualization needs in various business areas.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Proven experience (9+ years) in designing and developing end-to-end data reporting and visualization solutions.

- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or similar platforms.

- Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.

- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and database structures.

- Solid understanding of data analytics and data visualization best practices.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

- Detail-oriented and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.
