About the role
We are looking for an experienced Sr Engineering Manager to join our core platform team. If you have excellent software design and programming skills and a passion for building and maintaining core platform features that enable product-oriented teams to move more quickly, we would like to meet you.

What You will do
❖ Lead the Core Platform team in building and maintaining core platform features that enable product-oriented teams to move more quickly.
❖ Take ownership of complex core technologies including: API gateways, Authentication & Authorization, Communication Platform, Events Platform.
❖ Design and develop next-generation core platform services as needed, such as tiered rate limiting services, microservice orchestration, or central product configuration management engines.
❖ Raise the bar for other teams at slice by facilitating, directly assisting, or convincing other teams to adopt newer technologies or methodologies.
❖ Drive technology, tooling, and cultural best practices.
❖ Experiment with new & relevant technologies and tools, and drive adoption.
❖ Foster an “enablement” culture within the Core Platform team.
❖ Manage and mature team of developers.
❖ Coordinate with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Developers, Infrastructure, and others.
❖ Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions.

 What you will need
❖8+ years of experience with Java.
❖3+ years of experience being an Engineering Manager.
❖Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.
❖ Excellent system design skills.
❖ Strong knowledge of REST and microservices-based design.
❖ Hands-on experience with Containers and/or orchestration.
❖ Experience with microservices orchestration, business process management protocols or tooling. 
❖ Proactive ownership mentality.
❖ Strong collaboration & coordination skills.
❖ Fully capable of owning and running entire subsystems of work.
❖ Ability to balance near-term minimum viable requirements with long-term strategic requirements.
❖ Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating.
