Linux Administrator, Bangalore

This is the main role and tasks

Expanding Group IT in Stibo Systems, Bengaluru, India. We are looking for Linux Administrator who is willing to support the Stibo IT Infrastructure and business almost 24/7. This position reports to the local IT Manager.

  • ITSM tool management – Understand the importance of good communication with stakeholders
  • Recognize/categorize security events and incidents according to Stibo
  • Contribute and participate in all Stibo Projects
  • Standard operation tasks and activities
  • Understand and handle escalation and prioritizing issues
  • Knowledge sharing with superusers/ users
  • Prioritize and handle standard activities without instructions
  • Create and maintain documentation, including How-to and troubleshooting articles
  • Through Tier-II, assist and support On-site / helpdesk with backend support
  • Assist in Installing and Maintenance of infrastructure servers
  • Contribute to the daily operations of VMware, backup, deployment, etc.

 

Technologies include

  • Advanced knowledge of the Linux operating system in an Enterprise environment, install, configure and maintain infrastructure components in a virtualized Linux Environment, maintain the Change Management Process for any change in server configurations, perform regular monitoring, patch management and backup management
  • Administer the Linux IT Infrastructure environment for production and development products
  • Automation of tasks using scripts
  • Monitor server health and perform proactive maintenance to ensure continued uptime and performance for all infrastructure components
  • Debug and resolve all issues on the production and development platforms
  • Design Linux based IT Infrastructure solutions that are fully scalable and fault tolerant
  • Ensure high availability of the environment
  • Advanced Knowledge of bash and perl shell scripting
  • Advanced knowledge of Apache, MySQL
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc.
  • Familiarity with ESX VMware
  • Strong technical background in Storage, Disk Management
  • Hands-on experience in configuration and troubleshooting
  • Extensive implementation and troubleshooting experience
  • Demonstrated experience in creating documentation of designs and solution

 

Who we are looking for

We are searching for a self-starter, preferably RedHat Certified Engineer who is familiar with Linux and VMWare Technologies to support the infrastructure. Must be organized and willing to prioritize and follow standard processes.

Moreover, you:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Certification in Linux administration (e.g., RHCE, RHCSA) or related field.
  • 3 years of relevant and documented experience
  • Flexible to work as per the business requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM tools
