JOB DESCRIPTION

What will you be doing?  

  • Design and build scalable and maintainable Android applications.  
  • Take ownership of performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to define, design, and ship features combining product and technical roadmap.
  • Identify development issues and conduct code reviews to ensure that our applications are developed with high quality and maintainability.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Android development and provide guidance to the engineering team on best practices.

What do we expect from you?  

  • 10+ years of rich mix of Android development, design and architecture experience but number of years no bar for the right candidate.
  • Strong knowledge of OOPS, Java, Kotlin, Android SDK and the ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of Android’s design principles, architecture patterns and best practices.
  • Proficiency in debugging - identifying memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks, and using tools like ADB, Proguard, etc.
  • Experience with RESTful and Open APIs to connect Android applications to backend services 
  • Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications. 
  • Understanding of Git, CI/CD and knowledge of Android build system.
  • Experience with common Android libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, Glide, Picasso, RxJava, Gson, Arch-components, etc.
  • Experience with different programming paradigms, especially Functional and Reactive programming.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
