The ML Manager of Synopsys GenAI Platform will play a vital role in implementing the technical vision and roadmap for our next-generation GenAI platform.
We are searching for an experienced, passionate, and self-motivated person who possesses both a broad technical strategy and the ability to embrace architectural and modernization challenges.

You will be leading a team that is driving research and operationalization in this area, combining industry best practices and a first-best practices approach to design and build Generative AI and ML infrastructure that will improve Synopsys’s AI products. You will be building, leading, and helping a world-class team of ML Engineers to bring and support this innovative research to Synopsys R&D and users all over the world. Your responsibilities will include partnering with product leadership and core engineering teams, tracking project schedules, communicating risk areas to upper management, fostering innovation, and ensuring the high productivity and career development of your team members.

Responsibilities
 

• A hands-on technical head who knows the breadth of the technology in Generative AI, ML, and products built on these technologies. Stay up to date with the latest research and advancements in the field of Generative AI and Deep Learning and apply this knowledge to improve our models and algorithms.
• Build out our South-East Asia engineering team through focused hiring and on-boarding.
• Should be able to contribute 50% of effort to code reviews, testing, and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms.
• Manage multiple machine learning projects simultaneously, leading backlog grooming and sprint planning, and generally ensuring that deliverables are met on time.
• Adjust and train the team in best practices for machine learning and software engineering. This includes adhering to the scientific process for research. And various engineering philosophies including testing, documentation, readability, defensibility, etc.
• Coordinate with customers to know their needs and align with SNPS GenAI strategy and goals. Translate customer needs into technical requirements of Gen AI CoE.
• Refine the business needs of customers to align with Gen AI CoE and validate their readiness in terms of data availability, feasibility, and alignment.
• Coordinate with senior R&D, limit their exposure to customer judiciously to ensure their efforts to focused on technology development.
• Work with the R&D team to prioritize the tasks and build a delivery plan.
• Define the infrastructure needs of the team working with Architects.
• Coordinate with the IT team and external technology partners to ensure the infrastructure is set up on need basis.
• Help define roadmap of SNPS GenAI and ensure the execution is in line with the roadmap during the incremental deliveries.
• Define quality and delivery metrics for the team and ensure that these metrics are within control limits.

• Excellent statistical, strategic thinking and communication skills with the ability to synthesize, develop and present clear and concise recommendations.
• Proficient in software development practices, including spec’ing, documenting, testing, reviewing, deploying, and monitoring, and are passionate about writing clean, defensible code in an Agile development flow.
• Deeply know about ML/AI RND workflows, practices, and techniques in a production environment.
• Ability to communicate a compelling vision and inspire others to deliver on an aspiring and complex roadmap.

Education

• MS or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A sound background in production data engineering/flow or machine learning is desirable.
• Exceptional familiarity with python, and solid background in data structures and algorithms.

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in Program Management, People Management, Technology Leadership, and software development with 5+ years of hands-on management experience leading high-performing teams of engineers and/or engineering managers, including experience leading data engineering, data analytics, and or AI/Machine learning flows in a large-scale Software as a Service (SaaS) domain.
• Experience in building containerized ML applications on-prem and/or cloud at scale.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Some experience with the operations of running systems at scale: Site Reliability, Service-Levels, Incident management, etc.
