Here’s what you can expect.

The successful candidate for this exciting, key role will be part of the Global HR team and will move through different specialist HR functions, undertaking duties that are designed to ensure the individual gains a broad and varied HR knowledge and can put knowledge into operational practice. The role will rotate through different teams, and responsibilities will be assigned for each rotation.  

You will be given real responsibilities right from day 1 and whatever you are working on, will stretch your problem-solving skills and introduce you to people at all levels of management. It will be a challenging scheme consistently testing your abilities and capabilities, but equally there is plenty of support from your mentor, section manager, and colleagues.  

What you’ll do.

This interesting role will provide you exposure to a variety of tasks and projects within HR, which may include:  

  • Talent Attraction 
  • Understand and engage in building policies, processes, and procedures 
  • Get involved with employer branding, and support in positioning Finastra as an employer of choice 
  • Total Rewards
  • Assist with reward analysis and modelling 
  • Assist with compiling compensation data 
  • Understand external benchmarking and evaluation, put this to practical use 
  • Assist with people analytics, compiling data and managing information 
  • Talent Management   
  • Work on imbedding the competencies and values across the business 
  • Assist with the talent assessment process, evaluation, and action planning 
  • HR Operations
  • Assist with employee relations’ issues 
  • Assist in the annual Employee Engagement Survey, action planning and reporting 
  • Assist with attendance, absence, maternity, and other employee related processes 
  • Adhere and support on global annual processes such as talent review, pay review and the management bonus scheme 
  • Engagement & Communication
  • Assist with internal communications content creation and channel management  
  • Assist with building tools and processes to improve engagement and communication within the HR community and wider enabling functions 

 

What you’ll need.

Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:  

  • Degree in HR, Business, and other related disciplines   
  • Capable at organizing and structuring work  
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Core Office 365 skills and other digital tools  
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Quick learner with a desire to put academic theories into practice 
  • A strong and committed drive to pursue a career in HR   
  • Fluency in an additional language (desirable)

What will you do? Our HR GLDP enables participants to experience multiple rotation assignments over two years to provide a broad experience in different facets of HR while allowing for exposure to our core processes, technologies, and leaders. All HR GLDP rotations are onsite and each rotation is individually designed and determined through a combination of business priorities, previous experience, development needs, and individual interests which allows you to be located at any US Thermo Fisher Scientific location. The HR GLDP rotations expose program participants to diverse functional areas, business units, products/services, and regions. Additional learning opportunities support the accelerated nature of the program and will include: formal learning sessions; an Executive Mentor program; utilization of our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology; and a network of Leadership Development Program alumni across the organization. The Program Manager will partner with participants to align on post-program placement and identify positions where graduates will continue to hone critical Human Resource competencies.   Please Note: The HR GLDP is set to begin July 15, 2024 and individuals are responsible for finalizing housing and transportation prior to program commencement and across each rotation throughout the two (2) year program.   Rotations include exposure to: Talent Management Talent Acquisition Corporate Total Rewards Employee Relations   Through these rotation experiences, you will get exposure to our various field client groups, manufacturing plants, HR processes and systems, and senior leaders.  Opportunities to work on key HR strategic projects may also be available.     Relocation is required both during and after completion of the program. The HR GLDP affords participants an extraordinary opportunity to produce results, quickly gain credibility and develop a strong company network over two years. From a post-program placement perspective, participants will work with the Program Manager to identify HR positions in which to interview across the organization.   Location/Division Specific Information Participants will complete a two-year program consisting of three 8-month rotations which could include (but not limited to): Boston Metro area; Carlsbad, CA; or Pittsburgh, PA; etc. Geographic flexibility is required during the program and upon completion of the program. Relocation assistance is provided.   How will you get here? Graduate student completing a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, MBA with a HR concentration, or similar degree with a graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024. 1+ years of work experience in Human Resources required. Desire for a career in Human Resources and being a Human Resources Business Partner. Results oriented and strong desire to get involved with day-to-day HR operations of the company. Ability to effectively interact with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. Proven attention to detail and drive towards results. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence and strong executive presence.
