Role Purpose
Responsible for defining and overseeing the execution of, the technology strategy that aligns with the broader index data, and index data management strategy, specific to the processing of Corporate Actions which supports LSEGs Index product strategy.
Role Responsibilities-
Delivers a cohesive technology strategy which supports the evolution of our Index Data Management platform, IDPS (Index Data Processing Service) specifically for the processing and notification of Corporate Action events. - Understands the overall Index product roadmap and strategy and proactively manages own work and other’s accordingly and as directed by senior colleagues to meet overall objectives- Contributes defining the business data strategy, and the data operations management strategy, against which technology will create a development plan for the data management platform, and engineer the integration of data to downstream target platforms.- Reviews and analyses capabilities of our competitors in the marketplace.- Liaises with key product and operations business partners to continually plan and update our long term strategy, and insure current development work is properly prioritized and socialized with the business and operations partners.- Works with business product and operations teams on new business cases within their respective domains, insure PRD’s (Product Requirements Documents) are adequately detailed so that technology can create and execute well defined engineering specifications.- Ensures client engagement, communicate roadmaps to the client community and is responsible for feedback. This includes internal clients, like product, research and operations, and potentially external clients of our Index products and services, as requested by our business partners.- Works with index product development to insure data requirements needed for new products are defined early enough for technology to deliver, and where re-prioritization is needed to support business objectives, this is properly managed and impact socialized.
- Able to analyse large data sets to identify data quality issues, work with operations and tech to automate as much as possible to insure high data quality and minimize manual effort.
- Verifies accuracy of data from product, research and operations teams in order to deliver to the tech team in a timely manner
- Drives change, proactive in realising opportunities for improvements
- Effectively liaise with key stakeholders including the sub-team
Skills / knowledge
- Extensive knowledge in the processing and notification of Corporate Action events data used in the maintenance of large data warehouses that support Index/Fund management. How to apply corporate actions to entity and instrument data, what events should be actively managed and communicated to internal operational teams, and externally to our customers, and how to forecast how corporate action events will impact the indices and funds that we manage and distribute.
- Comfortable with presenting strategy and plans to the most senior levels of the firm, strong communication skills both verbal and written, polished on succinct presentation skills.
- Proactive and self-starter with excellent attention to detail and ability to work towards SLAs and deadlines
- Able to identify issues, problem-solve and follow through to resolution
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability record and communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to generate and maintain positive relationships with teams, and influence key clients and decision makers
- Asset/investment background with understanding of controlled audit environment
Minimum Requirements-
Experience in financial services industry, concentrating on Asset Management, Custody, or Fund Accounting
- Degree or equivalent in a Finance, Economics or Engineering related field- Proven experience in data acquisition and management strategy, hands on experience running data management processes preferred- Specialisation and deep expertise within Equities data domain.
- IMC beneficial
- Proficient in Excel, experience with Jira preferred
