We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Financial Controls team. Your main responsibility will be to perform testing of financial controls - design and implementation (D&I) and effectiveness. You will also work with control owners to identify, design, and evaluate internal controls. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Controls Testing, and involves collaborating with various teams including external auditors. Additionally, you will support the controls attestation process and contribute to process improvement and control optimization projects.

Role Profile:

The Financial Controls team is charged with the design and build of a UK SOX compliant controls framework.  This includes the design and implementation of controls, testing of those controls and serving as a 2nd line of defence function for management. The team is part of the larger LSEG Finance organization, and reports to the Group Controller. The Senior Associate will be part of the team that performs the testing of financial controls - design and implementation (D&I) and effectiveness. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Controls Testing, who is one of three direct reports of the Head of Financial Controls.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform Design & Implementation and Operating Effectiveness assurance (controls testing) program.
  • Work with control owners to identify, design and conduct the management assessment of internal controls.
  • Liaise with and support the Controls Advisory function for e.g.  control framework changes. Evaluation and remediation of control exceptions.
  • Manage Risk and Control Database (RCD), including the quarterly Attestation process. Design & support business requirements for MetricStream system of record for controls testing and ensure ongoing proper use and support.
  • Collaborate with the external audit team, operational management, and business owners to coordinate the audits and drive to resolution identified issues.
  • Support the quarterly controls attestation process, ensuring that control attributes are up to date and reflect previous responses.
  • Support process improvement and control optimization projects

 

Skills and experience

Required

  • At least 4+ years of work experience, including 3 years of experience in public accounting combined with SOX compliance program.
  • University (equivalent) degree and/or ACCA (equivalent)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with peers and management globally
  • Strong command of Office applications
  • Experience in testing code/configuration/logic

 

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Audit Command Language (ACL) Analytics and proficiency in MS Office tools. 
  • Internal/ External audit experience and/or prior consulting experience
  • Familiarity with SAP Accounting and Billing applications, Oracle Financials, SalesForce.com
  • Knowledge of modules like Record to Report - Billing to Cash, Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash-Out - Contract-to-pay, Accounts Payable (AP) and Cash management. Identifying gaps in the existing processes and providing recommendations for process improvement and mitigating risks arising from the gaps.
  • Experience in/working knowledge of IT General Controls & Application controls.
  • Working knowledge of Power Tools like Power BI, Tableau, Celonis etc.

What role you will play in our team   The Project Controls Engineer (PCE) implements overall project controls direction through application of systems and methods for estimate development, cost control, planning and reporting, progress measurement, schedule development/control and management of change. PCE has capability to execute the technical tasks as well as lead contractors in doing them. In addition to technical ability, a PCE should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. This is an office-based position in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. What will you do   Primary Job Functions   Provide overall project cost, schedule, estimating, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise: Manage Project Cost and Schedule throughout the project life cycle. Fully understand the scope of the project, contractual requirements, identify the major milestones and set clear priorities for the project team. Lead the cost and schedule estimates for various Gate reviews and participate in the preparation of Gate packages. Mentor junior project controls engineers and ensure the technical quality and timeliness of work. Serve as the budget custodian, lead financial close-out of the project and participate in other project close-out activities.     Stewards Project cost/schedule with ongoing project analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and Change Management: Coordinate the collecting, analyzing, and reporting of project cost and schedule control information to ensure overall project status is assessed, potential problem areas are identified. Analyze trends, prepare forecasts, opportunities and vulnerabilities. Administer the project change control process and communicate implication of changes. Steward the overall Change Management process:   Monitoring and appraising the performance of the Contractor(s) in the areas of cost control, progress measurement and control. Ensure that proper and effective project control measures are executed by the Contractor. Review and endorse the plans and procedures developed by the contractor. Ensure implementation of the same. Review and endorse progress and cost/schedule baselines and forecast prepared by contractors. Analyze cost/schedule and progress reports and trends developed by contractor. Review cost bases of contractor's Change Proposals / Orders Assist in developing/reviewing cost corrective actions and recovery plans and making sure needed actions/plans are implemented.   Develop cost and schedule estimates to support opportunity assessments, Project funding, Project reviews, and ad hoc requests. About you   Skills and Qualifications:   Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management from a recognized university Minimum 3 years of experience project controls focused on cost control, estimating, planning, and schedule control in Oil & Gas or Construction Industry Preferred: Experience in working in Brownfield oil and gas environment Demonstrated leadership skills Good command of English both written and spoken Strong MS Excel and presentation skills Strong influencing without authority, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely convey recommendations to management / leadership Willingness to relocate to Bengaluru Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally as per business needs Willingness to work on portfolio of small to midsize Brownfield projects.
