JOB DESCRIPTION

How Will You Contribute:

Functional engineer will be Responsible for developing functional test strategies, test plans, test execution along with automation suite for platform-independent current and next-generation packet software encompassing the broad spectrum of CIENA's networking products. You will get an opportunity to innovate and influence new technologies that shape the future of Next Generation networks.   

• Develop, execute and automate functional test plans to verify product capabilities Execution of test cases and reporting test results with artifacts using Test Rail
• Work closely with engineers across teams to ensure quality for the features
• Build in-depth knowledge of product architecture and develop ability to root-cause issues
• Test plan / scripts review: Able to host test plan reviews for assigned features, as well as to contribute to test plan reviews held by other team members.  Attend independently and provide comments for the functional requirements and/or those relating to commercial specifications/RFCs for Functional Spec reviews
• Good Understanding  of Layer-3 routing products and at ease to ramp up quickly on new technologies and concepts

The must Haves:

• 5+ years experience in testing.
• Hands on relevant experience in test planning, test execution and automation
• Hands on testing experience of Networking protocols: L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, MPLS, LDP, Segment Routing, BGP/MP-BGP, FRR/PIC, RSVP-TE
• Experience with Packet Traffic generators
• Experience in automation in python.
• Strong dedication to Product excellence and Quality
• Position requires Proficient troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills
