About Operations Team
Operations is the front-line defense of Morgan Stanley’s financial well-being. One of the largest divisions in the Firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying, and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology.
Operations Associate Program Roles and Responsibilities
• Learn key processes in the life cycle of a trade including deal capture, enrichment, confirmation and final settlement.
• Reconciliation and record keeping, identify and resolve trading breaks from discrepancies dealing with security information, trading date and settlement date, executed quantity, taxes, commission, prices and settlement locations.
• Data mining, reporting, and documentation: preparation and compilation of daily/weekly/monthly metric dashboards to ensure thorough business analysis.
• Collaborate with local & global colleagues at all levels to create best practice methodologies and approaches for business analysis, issue follow up and escalation.
• Develop relationships with both internal & external stakeholders (i.e., Counterparties, Traders, Legal, Credit, Technology, Finance and other functional teams) to understand their priorities and ensure that business needs are met.
• Train new team members on an ongoing basis, perform first level checks and provide feedback on functional areas of development
• Support and develop risk policies and control framework with a view to minimize operational risk.
• Be a change agent and help to drive the direction of the group strategically by improving the efficiency and control framework of the team.
• Oversight and Governance on tasks outsourced to vendors.
• Partner closely with Technology, Business Unit, Risk and Change Management teams on successful delivery of business & regulatory driven projects
What We Look For
• MBA in Banking and Finance
• Willing to work in flexible shifts starting and ending between 6:30 a.m. and midnight.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Pay close attention to detail and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS office.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and manage multiple activities.
• Exhibit a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership.
Interview Process
Shortlisted students from the online test will be required to be available for virtual/physical interviews with Morgan Stanley. Students will be further shortlisted based on personal rounds of interview before we make the final offer.
