Job Summary:
The Design Engineer responsibilities are related to the management and execution of ETO projects produced in Fiorenzuola plant, meeting the target dates and assuring a high output quality, this to release into production the orders timely to respect the contractual delivery date.
Main output of the engineering activities are bill of materials, technical and manufacturing drawings, calculations, needed to manufacture and assemble actuators and relevant accessories and control systems according to customer technical specifications
Responsibilities
- Detailed analysis of the technical part of the orders
- Interaction with Inside Sales, PMO and Application Engineering departments to clarify the definition of the scope of supply
- Selection of correct actuator components and materials according to the scope of supply
- Design of new actuator models (complete actuator, subassemblies, VMK), respecting best engineering practices, applicable regulations and standards and keeping into consideration manufacturing feasibility and safety aspects
- Selection and technical definition of VOS components based on technical requirements like functionality, materials suitable for the application, customer specifications, applicable regulations and standard
- Strict cooperation with purchasing department and suppliers for technical discussion and clarification regarding components selection and definition
- Production of technical documentation requested by the projects such as bill of materials, assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, calculations, …
- Interaction with PMO department to support in case of technical clarifications or comments received by customer, if needed attending technical meetings with customer
- Support to technical documentation team for correct documentation release (mainly overall dimensional drawings and instruction and operating manuals)
- Interaction and support to VOS Design engineers and to documentation engineers based in and out Fiorenzuola
- Support to Operations department during assembly and testing of the actuators, to solve any issue which can occur during these activities.
