Job Description As a Senior Tax Accountant you will be responsible for preparing US Federal and State income tax returns, reviewing sales & use tax, maintaining the income tax payable and receivable accounts, reviewing withholding taxes, reviewing FIN 48 questionnaires, preparing various memos for ASC 740, reviewing the global tax rates, assisting with the preparation of the quarterly tax provisions, audit queries, and special projects. Other responsibilities include: developing staff, continuous development of tax technical skills, process improvement, and coordination of deliverables. Strives for continuous improvement in process, deliverables, leadership, and professional expertise. Collect information required for all federal and state income/franchise tax filings; prepare the filings. Assist the Manager with the international aspects of federal tax compliance, including the determination of Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, foreign tax credit, and earnings and profits calculations. Ensure that all U.S. tax compliance is filed timely and in accordance with federal and state requirements. Analyze, reconcile, and maintain worldwide tax balance sheet accounts. Gather information required (including foreign tax returns) for the worldwide tax provision calculations and assist the Manager with tax provision analysis/footnotes. Supervise the sales tax compliance function and coordinate issue resolution with the Junior Tax Accountant and Manager. Prepare responses to federal and state tax notices. Collect information required for federal and state income/franchise tax audits and assist the Manager with audit resolution. Research tax issues as they arise. Communicate with members of the Tax and Finance departments and related employees to ensure consistent application and accountability of tax policies. Serve as a consultant within the Company on various tax matters. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Licenses: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; Masters in Taxation or JD preferred. CPA. 3 to 4 years of experience preparing/reviewing corporate federal and state income tax returns; experience in a large public accounting firm or with the IRS preferred Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite or Google; ONESOURCE Provision and/or ONESOURCE Income Tax preferred Other knowledge or skills: Must have a solid understanding of US federal income tax law, tax accounting issues, and tax compliance matters. Detail-oriented with effective organizational skills. Strong desire to learn and deliver high-quality work products. Excellent research skills with a focus on documentation. Ability to multi-task and thrive under tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
