Interconnect Systems (ISI), a Molex company, manufactures high performance electronic assemblies in our Camarillo, CA factory.  We currently have an opportunity in our operations department for a Drill/Route programmer and machine operator.  Your skills will make you part of the team that directly impacts the current and future growth for the company.  Our operations use industry accepted process controls in manufacturing and quality to help us maintain and continually improve our excellence in providing electronics solutions to the world markets. 


 

What You Will Do

 

  • Program Excellon and Final Touch machines using CAM software and customer data.
  • Set up drill and route machines with proper tools, fixtures, speeds and feeds.
  • Program and operate drill and route machines to drawing requirements and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems with drill and route machines.
  • Maintain drill and route machines in good working condition by performing preventive maintenance, cleaning and calibration.
  • Maintain work cell to 5S.

 

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Must be able to work in an ITAR compliant facility.
  • Fluent in English writing and communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret data, drawings, specifications and instructions.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Focus on details, quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
     

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Proficient in programming and operating Excellon and Final Touch or similar machines
  • Experience in AutoCAD and CAM 350 software preferred.
  • Ability to use optical inspection, measurement tools and test equipment.
  • Experience with computers using Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

JOB DESCRIPTION The Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) Team is responsible for evaluating technologies and identifying supply chain solutions that allow us to deliver products to market at scale. This Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) will focus on manufacturing, process development and supplier qualification. This Mechanical Manufacturing Design Engineer is technically proficient enough to work with the engineering design and Operations teams for augmented and virtual reality products. This role requires experience in supply chain and manufacturing to develop hardware tooling/fixture and bring process and technology into mass production. Specific hardware development and fixture knowledge are required, and the candidate must have demonstrated extreme hands-on technical expertise on various tooling components and systems, understood key factors in both the development, process qualification and manufacturing aspects of secondary operations (i.e. metal or plastic CNC machining, welding (laser, Ultrasonic, etc.), glue dispensing, insert molding, sheet metal fabrication, sub-assembly processes, plastic painting, pad/silk printing, CMF (color, material and surface finishing - blasting, polishing, PVD coating or anodization). The role will be to act as the key driver for Tier II technical/process components interface between the Tech Ops Engineering (Quality, Reliability, OPM), Supply Chain, Hardware Engineering (Product Design, Industrial Design) and FATP teams. This role will also interact with the MDE and SQE Team in APAC to implement and execute comprehensive process and technical solutions for our products. Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) - Mechanical Responsibilities Work directly with USA commercial Team to identify the best supplier partners in APAC to meet product requirements from both technical perspective as well as supply chain and manufacturing considerations, and during NPI conceptual design - work on process and manufacturing proposal, provide process flow simulation, manufacturing cycle time simulation, process and cost analysis Work directly with USA hardware engineering team to provide technical proposal, manufacturing solutions at Tier II secondary process operations (post tooling) from equipment selection, material selection, process recommendations, process set-ups and qualifications, manufacturability to mass-production with cost effectiveness, process exploration for NPI program and critical part features and review manufacturability of design.
