Responsibilities
Candidate should have solid experience on Backup Administration and sound experience on Backup tools such as Veeam, Rubrik
Strong knowledge on Backup configurations of IT Infra systems as well as cloud environment
Candidate should have good experience in creating policies and managing master backup servers.
Veeam replica configuration Disaster recovery using Veeam appliance.
Hands on experience in VM, File system, SQL backup configuration and restoration.
Experience on performecovery operations for VM's and physical machines incliding 1 click restore, Guest OS file restore.
Having knowledge on Veeam infrastructure components Veeam backup proxy server repository.
Identify where supporting software & hardware is physically located.
Maintaining application & system software at a supported version.
Regularly validate backup jobs.
Restore, recover, and test data from the backup system as required.
Backup service provider, usually the storage team, IDG.
Provide advice on IDG backup and storage services.
Plan, deploy and administer the backup system hardware and software.
Ensure backups are run to schedule and retention is met.
Verify all full backup jobs.
Maintain an audit trail of config, backup and restore tasks.
Provide reports on job success/failure. Raise event alerts for failures.
Perform file restore operations as required.
Provide onboarding support for new customers. Provide client backup agent software.
Including proof of concept and backup solution design.
Provide customer support for the backup service. Liaise with Commvault support.
· Provide advice and support to customers writing a backup policy.
Storage Responsibilities :-
• Detailed SAN knowledge - Excellent switch administration knowledge (Cisco & Brocade)
• Excellent Administration and Implementation knowledge in Pure and Flash arrays
• Excellent Administration knowledge in Storage replications.
• Solving complicated Hardware cases and Liaising with Hardware Vendor support - Advanced trouble shooting skills and identify the severity of the issue.
• PURE arrays Configuration installs and Firmware Upgrades of the storage arrays.
• Creating and managing soft & hard zones on brocade switches.
• Good basic Knowledge on VM's and VMware environment.
• Hands on experience with windows, VMware, Linux to provision the storage.
• Analysing and planning storage infrastructure on the customer environment.
• Performing DR drills every year on storage and backup areas.

To qualify for the position of Storage and Backup Engineer, it is essential to demonstrate good skills and/or knowledge of systems such as Microsoft Azure, VMware, Hyper-V. It is also necessary to be familiar with the various IT tools that the company uses.
