Lead Software Engineer - Python

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate, Financial Planning & Analysis Engineering team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Expanding the system and implementing new features, by managing a team of engineers
- Fostering constant improvement and modernization of the platform and the project
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands on experience developing Python applications and strong backend skills preferably in Oracle DB
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in Micro services and Cloud computing
- Exposure in Database-related programming (both SQL and No-SQL)
- Exposure in UI/UX expertise (including contemporary JS frameworks, for instance: React and Angular)
- Exposure in AWS -Lambda/S3/EMR
