Thomson Reuters is looking to add a Lead QA Engineer to our Commercial Engineering.  This challenging position requires someone to think independently, work well collaboratively across multiple disciplines, including working with a variety of technologies stacks (as required). This is a chance to get in and make an immediate impact on our new and expanding product lines. As a Lead QA Engineer you have the ability to deliver high quality work in a timely manner, in a fast-paced environment while collaborating and brainstorming with others in a dynamic team environment.  A combination of strong planning, organization, time management skills, and handling multiple projects are key. You will also contribute to the maintenance and support of production systems, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is required.
  • 8-10 years experience designing, developing, maintaining, and executing automation tests or similar in Java or other Object-Oriented languages
  • Experience with test management tools and is comfortable with writing test plans and test cases
  • Experience testing Web Applications in cross-browser and cross-device manually as well using automated test tools
  • Experience working with and developing automated test scripts using Gherkin and BDD framework
  • Proficient and have a solid understanding of Selenium
  • A strong understanding of techniques for exploratory testing
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction and guidance to achieve goals
  • Experience using Agile Methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, Business Analysts, management, and business team members)
  • Line Management of QA engineers
  • Excellent communication skills, English speaking due to diverse team.
  • Understanding of both black box and white box test approaches
  • Managing code and changes in a team environment to include experience with source control utilities, such as Git
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience
  • Experience working with project management tools like Azure DevOps etc
  • Experience with Salesforce.com would be preferable
  • Comfortable designing acceptance test criteria for user stories and development tasks

Job description  About the role: Design, implement, and maintain DevOps continuous delivery pipelines to manage from code build to deployment and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as code practices to meet business needs. Act as the DevOps SME:  Have a deep understanding of modern DevOps development tools and practices involved with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Testing/Security and Continuous Monitoring/Observability Value Stream Management – introduce Value Stream Management to leaders and practitioners within Commercial Engineering; work with application SMEs to identify the current state of DevOps, assist in mapping the future state and use lean metrics to measure the progress. Be a Technical Leader and Coach: effectively define and coach on the best practices of DevOps for all the CI/CD tools and capabilities that are being proposed; guide the DevOps Engineers to build /enable DevOps capabilities and practices. In addition, the individual should be able to work with the Application Delivery directors to ensure there is alignment of DevOps strategy to application delivery. Lead team members through practices and tools enablement, including a focus on automation and defining new ways of working, along with a modern development toolset Drive improvements to Developer efficiency.   About You: You are fit for the role of DevOps Engineering Lead role if your background includes: 8+ years of relevant work experience in DevOps Should have hands on and good understanding of DevOps tools and automation frameworks. Demonstrated hands-on experience with DevOps techniques building continuous integration and continuous delivery solutions using Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, GitHub Actions Experience in configuration management tools Experience with implementation of Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Experienced with n-tier web application development. Experience in CI/CD implementation for SaaS products like Salesforce, SAP, AEM, Boomi Experience with Kubernetes and other container management solutions Working experience in cloud computing preferably AWS, knowledge of various AWS services for CI/CD implementation. Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk or any other monitoring tools/processes Experience working in Agile environments. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills and ability to follow through to completion. Experience in coaching junior members in the team Remove roadblocks and solve large scale problems including working with teams across all business segments. Have a creative ability to identify key metrics and measure results to track the DevOps transformation progress.
