Role description:

Reporting to the relevant project managers (within and outside of the Sustainable Drainage & Networks team) and with the support of senior team members you will be required to manage and deliver projects to budget, timeframe and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations. We use overseas design offices as well as engineers located in offices throughout the UK to help deliver our projects.  As a result, the candidate would be expected to collaborate with national and international colleagues.  You may be expected to travel occasionally, either to Arcadis offices, project sites , or client offices as necessary.

 

Role accountabilities:

  • Leading the Hydraulic Modelling Team from the India office
  • Hydraulic model development (inc. verification, calibration and efficiency optimization)
  • Development of engineering solutions to so solve a variety of technical and logistical challenges
  • Preparation of project reports and technical notes (inc. graphical plans)
  • Preparation of survey standards and scopes, inc. supervising contractors and undertaking site visits (where necessary)
  • Technical support and support of junior staff / overseas design office staff
  • Undertake technical checking of own work
  • Support innovation and technical development projects within the discipline of hydraulic modelling
  • Collaborate with the wider team and our clients, effectively communicating via direct (i.e. client meetings) and indirect (i.e. digital platforms) methods

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BE (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Management or Geomatics (or similar discipline)
  • At least 15 years’ experience in hydraulic network modelling, ideally using InfoWorks ICM
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent Excel and data analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work independently to budget and programme, use initiative to solve problems and be able to think ‘outside the box’ when necessary
  • Proficiency in GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS), specifically the manipulation of vector datasets and / or the production of maps
