The Role:

We are seeking a Senior, Business Analyst to join our Direct Indexing and Model Portfolios Team. The Associate Director will focus on enhancing the commercial strategy and operations of the DI and Models business by identifying, utilizing, and building data driven insights. You will have a direct line of communication and collaboration across the S&P DJI organization and will work closely with members our leadership team to assess strategic objectives for commercial and product priorities. You are a proven expert in data analytics with the ability to work autonomously to deliver critical business insights.

You will report directly to the Head of Direct Indexing and Model Portfolios and will work closely with all parts of the S&P DJI organization including Channel, Client Coverage, Product, Research, Commercial Excellence and Legal. As Direct Indexing and Model Portfolios continues to gain momentum, the is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, growing part of our organization.


Responsibilities: 
•    Enable the Direct Indexing and Model Portfolios team members to execute impactful action steps by highlighting existing and acquiring new, fit-for purpose data sets.
•    Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and deliver results in a timely manner.
•    Develop OKRs and KPIs that will inform recommendations to optimize our strategic focus.
•    Utilize 1st and 3rd party data for commercialization strategies and building market share.
•    Monitor the rapidly evolving direct indexing and model portfolios universe to identify, evaluate and recommend data sources.
•    Construct dashboards and reports to monitor and synthesize the market landscape to inform our commercial, research, and product priorities.
•    Provide SME expertise on trends, gaps, and flows in the marketplace
•    Ensure alignment of data needs, quality, timelines, and deliverables.

 

What We’re Looking For: 

Qualifications and Competencies
•    5 – 7 years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis of sales and financial markets information; including use of this information in the development of business plans and strategies.  
•    Ability to draw inferences from disparate pieces of data, identify key findings, link to implications and provide recommendations in a digestible and business-friendly format
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse teams across organizational lines and structures and negotiate with stakeholders.
•    Familiarity with emerging Analytics / Data Science capabilities and their application to Financial Services. 
•    Experience with creation and presentation of business cases.
•    Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau. 
•   Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Statistics, Economics) required, with a concentration in finance/strategy and consulting/quantitative analysis. Master’s Degree preferred.
•    Strong analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving.
•    Advanced understanding of the Financial markets, Indexing, Capital markets and clients/stakeholders. 
•    Advanced communication and influencing skills.
•    Advanced agility, project management and prioritization skills.

 

Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Statistics, Economics) required, with a concentration in finance/strategy and consulting/quantitative analysis. Master’s Degree preferred.

Team / division overview The IT Governance team within Technology & Operations ("T&O") controls and monitors IT operations and the further development of IT systems, including the associated IT processes, based on the IT strategy.
