We are searching for a top-notch Senior EngineeringManager who will drive key deliveries from the idea phase all the way through requirements definition, analysis, technical specifications, development, and product delivery. This is a highly visible role that requires both business knowledge for working with senior management and technical depth for removing development roadblocks. As an Engineering Manager in CCaas platform, you will provide coaching and leadership for a group of engineersin teams focused on building and delivering resilient, scalable microservices and APIs for building agent experiences available for any brand or partners. You will be challenged to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment consisting of highly matrixed, cross-geo teams who partner with global technology teams across Expedia. With your experience, technical skillset, and passion for coaching and motivating others, you and your team will create the components and experiences that enable CCaas vision of a contact center management ecosystem for Expedia, driving significant business benefits. What you’ll do: Guide and coach a team to successfully deliver on lofty goals with speed and quality Promote development of maintainable and thoroughly tested code Ensure your team is following coding standards and engineering excellence practices Provide ongoing, real-time feedback to engineers on your team to promote their growth Partner with program managers to collect feedback and manage team progress toward goals Communicate clearly to product managers, partners, and engineers to remove ambiguity from larger projects Provide high level engineering estimates Collaborate with architects and engineers in defining scalable solutions that incorporate data insights as well as your technical perspective in furthering the product and business Cross organizational boundaries (brands, divisions) to collaborate with other technology teams to solve complex, integrated problems Who you are: 8+ years software development experience in enterprise software 3+ years of people management experience, leading a software engineering team Proven experience in leadership and team building The utmost passion for both technology and leadership Bachelor’s or Master's in computer science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience Experience in delivering end to end software services Strong knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Scala or Python with expertise in one language Strong knowledge of backend API development Knowledge of front-end development (React, Node JS, Angular, or others) Experience of working in AWS Cloud Expertise in agile software development methodologies and their adoption within teams Excellent communication and organizational skills - able to translate between technical and business group, bring forward a vision or opinion Ability to lead multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize decisions and tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Understanding of trade-offs of architectural patterns and comfort in recommending approaches and associated technology choices The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $161,500.00 to $226,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $258,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
