ADP is hiring a Vice President, Product Development
The Vice President (VP) of Product Development for our Workforce Management product line is a critical executive role responsible for steering the strategic direction, development, and execution of both existing and next-generation software products. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team focused on product development, engineering, architecture, and production operations. In collaboration with Business Unit (BU) leaders, the VP will ensure products meet customer functionality, reliability, and scalability expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Leadership: As an executive team member, contribute to the ADP’s strategic direction, ensuring product development alignment with overall business goals.
- Strategic Planning: Partner with BU leaders to define long-term product roadmaps, feature sets, and development milestones.
- Product Development: Oversee all aspects of product development from concept to market launch, ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
- Engineering Excellence: Lead and mentor a world-class engineering team focused on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance products.
- Architecture: Oversee the technology architecture strategy for the Workforce Management product line, ensuring long-term scalability and sustainability.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor production operations, leading the team in promptly resolving any operational issues to mitigate the impact on clients.
- Customer Alignment: Work closely with customer success, sales, and marketing teams to ensure customer-centric and market-fit products.
- Quality & Compliance: Set quality standards and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements. Oversee robust quality assurance processes to assure product reliability.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify operational or product risks and collaborate cross-functionally to address them before they impact clients.
- Talent Management: Develop a high-performing, cohesive team through effective recruitment, training, and performance management.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree:In a relevant field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Business Management.
- Advanced Degree:A Master’s degree or MBA is often preferred, particularly in Technology Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Senior Leadership:Minimum of 8-15 years in product development, with at least 5-8 years in a senior leadership role, overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
- Industry Experience:Deep knowledge of and experience in Workforce Management solutions or similar fields like Human Resources software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or related business applications.
- Track Record: Proven history of leading a global team of engineers and successfully bringing products from concept to market, including experience with highly scalable and reliable software platforms.
- Operational Excellence: Experience in overseeing end-to-end production operations, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience collaborating with other departments like Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support to ensure a well-rounded product strategy.

- Negotiation Skills:Ability to effectively negotiate priorities, resources, and partnerships internally and externally.
- Financial Acumen:Understanding budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure product development activities align with financial objectives.

For California, salary range for this role is listed in the compensation section below. Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions.

Base Compensation Range for this role is $181,100 – $303,270
