Job Description

The Finance IT Manager (Accounting Systems and Integration) is a key individual contributor role responsible for the maintenance, oversight, and optimization of the organization's accounting systems, primarily Tally and Navision, as well as the integration of peripheral systems such as CRM, Coupa (purchase software), and LIMS (lab operating systems).

This role necessitates a basic understanding of finance and accounting principles, coupled with expertise in using Tally and Navision software for accurate financial record-keeping, report generation, and regulatory compliance. The Finance IT Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead financial process improvements, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities: 

Accounting Systems Management: 

  • Utilize Tally and Navision software to record, classify, and maintain financial transactions accurately.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in the accounting systems.

Financial Reporting: 

  • Coordinate with finance teams to understand their reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the development of various financial reports from Tally and Navision, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and accounting standards.
  • Assist with audits and collaborate with internal/external auditors as required.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize financial processes using Tally and Navision software.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Systems Integration: 

  • Oversee the integration of peripheral systems such as CRM, Coupa, and LIMS with the accounting systems.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between different systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.

Cross-functional Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and other relevant teams to ensure alignment of financial processes with business objectives.

Accounting Systems Maintenance and Upgrades: 

  • Stay updated with the latest features, updates, and versions of Tally and Navision software.
  • Coordinate with IT teams and service providers to ensure proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to SLAs of the accounting systems.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are advantageous.
  • Proven experience (3 to 4 years) in financial management and accounting roles.
  • Expertise in using Tally and Navision software for financial management is essential, with at least 3 to 4 years of experience in a software-focused role.
  • Experience in integrating peripheral systems such as CRM, Coupa, and LIMS with accounting systems.
  • Exposure to software coding and database maintenance is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software tools.
