We are hiring an attorney to support our operations and growth in the Asia Pacific region, to include Australia, India, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, the PRC, and Singapore. This role will partner with teams across Snowflake to advise on employment matters and will be filled at either the Corporate Counsel or Senior Corporate Counsel level depending upon the selected candidate’s years of experience and qualifications.  This is an in-person role that will report to Snowflake’s Senior Director, Associate General Counsel - Employment & Litigation and you can be based in Pune, India

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Drive and give pragmatic advice for the Asia Pacific region on a wide range of employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, pay practices, contingent workers, HR policies and procedures, performance management, investigations, terminations, and works councils and employee representative bodies
  • Draft, negotiate, and enforce employment-related agreements, templates, and forms (e.g., employment, consulting, separation, etc.). 
  • Build and implement scalable, compliant employment policies and programs
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of employment-related policies and processes
  • Assist in managing and resolving employment-related disputes, governmental agency actions, and litigation matters
  • Monitor changes and updates to employment laws and advise of developments that may affect the company

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to pragmatically weigh risks and benefits of complex situations
  • Attitude that no project is too big or too small 
  • Comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Enjoy working with people and forging strong relationships
  • Strong experience creating and scaling processes and policies for a rapidly growing company
  • JD, LLB, or equivalent degree 
  • Minimum of 4 years of legal experience with substantive employment law experience
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction in which this position is located
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Law firm experience, in-house experience with a multinational corporation, and/or experience handling employment law issues in the Asia Pacific region preferred
  • Fluency in Japanese, Mandarin, or Korean is a plus

OUR IDEAL Sr Security Compliance Specialist WILL HAVE: 8+ years of Compliance, Security or Audit experience in a cloud environment Must have proven experience supporting and driving assessments or audits for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP) and major front and middle-office SaaS platforms Prior experience with managing other security compliance audits of cloud environments against security frameworks like SOC1 & 2,SOX, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 etc. is a plus. Ability to organize, conduct and drive meetings and outcomes with little to no manager involvement. Must be aware of and deliver quality stakeholder engagement experience.
