About the team
This position will have an active role in ensuring cash collections are appropriately applied against customer receipts, review of AR Aging, effective co-ordination with BU management & collection managers, daily and weekly supervisory reviews, the monthly accounting close, month-end closure reporting, and ad hoc reporting. What you bring:
Knowledge / Experience -
This position will be responsible for processing all assigned tasks, including, but not limited to:
Has good knowledge of Cash Application process, procedures, and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks related to the process and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles
Review and assignment of cash application generic mailbox and ensuring timely completion of all requests
Understanding of Bad Debts entries and reconciliation of accounts.
Co-ordination with business units for open items including escalations as needed
AR aging review
Journal Entries/MBEs for Adjustments and Reclasses to Reconciliation Accounts.
Understanding of WHT concepts.
Reports to be worked upon – Unallocated Credits, Supervisory report to ensure GL and Bank tallies etc.
Organize/Co-ordinate and participate in team meetings, con-calls etc.
Month-end closure reporting – Unapplied Cash Account reconciliation review, Monthly Collections Report, Cash Metrics, Reserves, or any other report as assigned etc.
Knowledge/Experience/skills/Qualification:
Strong Accounting Knowledge – Cash Application, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Accounting
0-3 years of in experience in Cash Application
Good Communication Skills – Written and Verbal and Good in MS Excel
Minimum Educational Qualification – B.Com
Sound knowledge Oracle ERP
Ability to analyze reports and function as an SME/SPOC
Proactively look for new creative ideas and implement process improvements
Ability to understand and resolve queries from business units and team members
Ability to co-relate figures, do analysis, and make relevant comments
Basic knowledge of reserve provisions and revenue accounting
A good team player
