THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. THE PERSON:  

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your prototyping and emulation expertise will be necessary towards Product development, definition, and root cause resolution.  

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across prototyping, emulation and validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives 
  • Building of SoC based prototyping and emulation systems
  • Co-relating functionality with Architecture/Design specs and/or protocol specifications 
  • Debugging issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs 
  • Working with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time 
  • Working closely with supporting technical teams 
  • Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks   

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Experience of 6+ years in the field of VLSI domain
  • Experienced in Verilog, System Verilog, testbenches and UVM methodologies
  • Hands-on and experience in deveolping complete Soc based prototyping and emulation platforms from scratch
  • Hand-on with vendor specific prototyping/emulation flows for HAPS/Protium/Zebu/Palladium/ 
  • Knowledge of AMD SoC products like the Zynq-7000, Zynq MPSoC, Versal
  • Hands-on in using Vivado tools, constraint specification, timign closure, STA and resolving PnR issues in Vivado.
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)  
  • Debug techniques and methodologies   
  • Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.  
  • Experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization 
  • Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy 

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or electronics or computer engineering
