The role of the Disaster Recovery Engineer is to analyze & understand DR needs, recommend on DR strategies and do DR implementations. The DRP engineer will be responsible for conducting end-to-end DR tests. Develop a disaster recovery documentations, policies, processes, and procedures to make sure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of the organization systems & data.   

The role combines both technical, project management and system analyzing skills. 

The job includes the following duties:

  • Develop disaster recovery plans, procedures, and policies for the restoration of essential business applications
  • Validate all the DR replications success
  • Assess & analyze DR gaps (RPO, RTO, replications deficiencies), contribute to the design & implementation of the DRP solutions
  • Work with IT department and other key personnel to determine if changes in hardware or software configurations affect disaster recovery plan outcomes
  • Support technologies and infrastructure assessments as part of the business impact analysis process
  • Operate in a complex environment due to global distributed components that are in dependency with various systems and end users (Internal and external)
  • Creation and maintenance of DR maps
  • Provide DR status reports to the Global Corporate DR Manager
  • Ensure all disaster recovery plans are reviewed and updated regularly
  • Establish and maintain detailed DR communications and command and control plans through a change management process.
